International Creative Capital is proud to announce their project backing of a new “Mall of Entertainment” in Albertville, MN. Aimed at adding to the entertainment sector around the Albertville mall, the Mall of Entertainment will feature a 300,000 square foot development with a theme park based on Sony Pictures properties such as “Smurfs”, “Men in Black”, “Ghostbusters”, and “Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs”. A 275 room Marriott hotel will sit alongside a 50,000 square foot waterpark in addition to other entertainment.
The complex will cost roughly $115 million dollars to develop, and ICC is proud to be part of the financing behind this project. Kevin Hanson, the CEO and owner of ICC, has the backing of Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton. ICC leadership has attended multiple trade missions with Governor Dayton to earn the trust for this project. Here is a press release on the Governor’s website about this project, quoting ICC CEO Kevin Hanson as building the relationship with the Governor over the course of several trade missions accompanying him.
Press attention has been received from all directions, including Kare 11’s reporting on the new development.
The project will be co-developed by Sony Pictures Consumer Products and a group called Black Forest LLC, which includes Los Angeles-based iP2Entertainment along with Kevin Hanson of ICC and other business partners. Kevin Hanson said International Creative Capital is the finance arm of the project.
The mall is projected to create 2,000 local jobs and has the blessing of local elected officials.
