EB-5 Investment Program: A Stable Path to U.S. Residency as Work-Permit Rules Tighten
Immigration policies in the United States continue to shift quickly, and many families are unsure about what these changes mean for their future in the USA. I speak with people every day who want stability, and the uncertainty surrounding immigration right now is unlike anything we’ve seen in years.

Work Permit Changes Creating Serious Concerns

“It has been reported by national news outlets and recent DHS policy updates that several categories of work-permit holders are facing changes to the automatic extensions they once relied on. Updates from USCIS and coverage in publications such as The New York Times, Reuters, and the Migration Policy Institute note that some automatic extensions are being shortened or removed, leaving many individuals at risk of losing work authorization while renewals are still pending.” This means people who are working, supporting families, and following the rules may suddenly find themselves losing work authorization while renewals are still pending.

A gap in work authorization affects everything: employment, financial security, housing, and the ability to plan ahead. For many, this single change is creating more pressure than any other recent policy shift.

EB-5 Investment Program: A More Stable Path to U.S. Residency

Many of the families I work with that want long-term solutions choose EB-5 because it removes the fear that policy will suddenly change: EB-5 offers a clear path to U.S. residency and a Green Card, supported by rules that do not change from month to month. It moves you away from the uncertainty of temporary work authorization. It gives you a long-term plan you can count on, without the stress of tracking work-permit deadlines.

This is also an unusually favorable moment to consider an EB-5 investment. USCIS has temporarily reduced several EB-5 filing fees, with some dropping by more than 60%. These reductions can make a meaningful difference, but they will not last. USCIS has stated that fee increases will be implemented without advance notice, meaning the opportunity to secure today’s lower filing fees can be gone overnight. Acting now will lock in the current reduced fees.

At ICC, we take a personal and involved approach with every investor. For more than 15 years, our team has supported EB-5 families through every step of the process. If you’re unsure whether EB-5 is the right fit, we can review your goals, timing, and financial structure together, so you have clarity before making any decisions.

If these new work-permit changes are creating stress for you or your family, this is the time to look at long-term options. Contact ICC so we can walk through your EB-5 path and help you secure today’s lower filing fees while they remain available.
